There is an amazing plugin for WordPress call Akismet, that catches 99% of spam. I have WordPress setup so that only content I approve can do up, if there are any issues with the content I can delete or edit it before it is posted.

Viruses cannot be posted as comments, a malicious blogger could post a virus.

A few questions from a blog idiot

How do you keep the spammers from eating you alive? i\'ve seen blogs with nothing but spam postings.

How do you keep some left wing extremist from posting racist or defamatory rhetoric? and if you cant stop them, what are you legally liabel when they do?

can viruses be posted to blogs?
