[...] David Szpunar posted about a new Adult Site Blocking service from OpenDNS this morning. This is great news, as that I have had great experience with OpenDNS and so far they have been extremely reliable and responsive. After ScrubIT blocked Google.com, I was hesitant to re-enable them on the church network (especially since we never got a response about what happened). [...]

Your right, it is free so we can't complain too much, but they are beta testing a premium pay service. If they expect customers to depend on them for DNS they have to prove themselves reliable.

I was running our whole church on it, you can guess how many calls we got it the morning when they couldn't access Google!

Very annoying! How can I follow my blogs in Google Reader if it's scrubbed? My morning time was totally thrown off...

And they scrubbed Wikipedia too. Just the results What the...

As of 9:15pm Pacific Google was still getting scrubbed, so I changed settings. I hope to change back, but not if they scrub Google.

I guess we get what we pay for.

They seem to have fixed the problem now. I would still like to get an explanation and some assurances before switching back.

Thanks, I submitted request online with them as well. Did you get a live person when you called them?

Yes, I tried to do something this morning and was hosed. Very annoying. I just checked again and they are still scrubbing Google.

I looked up their technical contact in whois and called them. Hopefully they'll get it taken care of soon.
