SunRocket Shutting Down

Looks like SunRocket, my VoIP phone provider at home, may have bit the dust. I lost dialtone around 8pm last night, but I was able to login to the member area and forward my calls to another number. SunRocket isn’t reachable by phone and they have not released anything official. The New York Times says that SunRocket is moving its customers to one or more other companies. While I did prepay for two years of service, I am not as concern about losing the money as I am about keeping my phone number. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

I run a small home-based real estate business. If I lose my number I am really in trouble as well!
I know lot’s of people using Vonage that are happy. Also, go to http://voipreview.org/ to read reviews.
Drew, looks like we may still be able to port our numbers if we act fast and move to another carrier.
Ray, I am concerned that Vonage may see the same fate soon, if you read up on gigaom.com, you will see a lot of signs that they are struggling. I decided to go with Lingo, I know several people who are using them and they are backed by Primus.
I am amazed on hearing this. I subscribed SunRocket last year. Though SunRocket directed their customers to Packet8 or TeleBlend, I decided to go with Lingo. I know several satisfied customers of Lingo who are using them. I do not want to take a chance again. They have several business calling plans suitable for customers like me.
SunRocket is out of service. If you want to switch to Lingo, then follow http://www.lingo.com/shop/promotions/sunrocket.jsp to know more about special promotions for SunRocket customers.
I have completed the switch to Lingo and ported by number, so far it is working pretty well.
