Coolest Workspace 2.0
Posted by Andrew Mitry under Web/Tech
Now that I have a new HP 8510W laptop sporting 1680×1050 resolution, I had to figure a way to get it integrated into my award winning workspace. I ended up building a shelf to bump up the height of my two middle monitors and sliding the dock for the laptop underneath. Syngery works great for controlling all four machines (Mac, dual monitor Ubuntu, XP desktop and XP laptop) from one keyboard/mouse. Maybe I should run again in the next coolest workspace contest…

Lose the white speakers, and replace with black Logitech’s and you’ll get my vote.

Good idea, those speakers are 10 years old and need to go anyways…it would be cool to find a set that takes 4 different inputs.

Nice setup. I just upgraded too. I sold both my 20″ dell monitors and got me a 25″ dell ultrasharp - pretty sweet. But I miss having 2 monitors.

I have 3 monitors in my workstation. My laptop screen, hooked to an old Dell CRT monitor that came with the Dimension 4600 (the guts that are still remaining are now in an Apevia case). Most of the parts have gotten replaced over time. One (super) old Packard Bell monitor I have isn’t hooked up to a computer yet because the computer needs fixed. I plan on adding another old Compaq laptop that is being shipped to me soon. Who needs new stuff when you can work with the old?
